Rust College is approved by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as an institution of higher learning for international students. Students applying for admissions must present their original and complete academic credentials with the application for admission.

Transcripts

Official High School Transcripts -(Transcripts must be evaluated by an approved agency if needed)
Official College Transcripts – (If the student is a transfer student from another college)

Official ACT/SAT

Official ACT (American College Test) and/or SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) scores.

Two Letters of Reference

Two letters of reference from a teacher, religious leader, community partner, etc. must be notarized.

Financial Statements (Affidavit of support) *Notarized

1. Applicants must provide a notarized financial statement from their bank showing that the applicant has enough support for at least one year in the United States.

2. This financial bank statement must be submitted with the application for admission. This amount should be at least $16,800.00 (This price estimate is subject to change and covers tuition, room, board, and additional expenses a typical college student may encounter). Please consult Rust College’s Business Office for the current annual cost.

Copy of updated passport

Remember to provide a copy of your current passport. The passport information in SEVIS should match the F or M visa. Having a current passport will help the DSO to enter student and dependent information accurately in SEVIS. The passport should be valid.

TOEFL

(Only required for non-English speaking students).

  • Students who are not from countries where English is the official language must submit an application of their recent test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL paper based of 540 or above; 76 internet-based test) and its equivalent

TOEFL scores will be waived for applicants who are:

  • Graduates of high schools within the United States
  • Students whose native language or the language of instruction is English
  • Students coming from a country where English is the Official Language

Former International Students

Rust International Alumni, if you are in need of an official transcript submit the Online payment form along with the Transcript Request Form. Remember to select ‘official transcript’ when making a payment. For questions and additional support, contact the Registrar’s office, registrarteam@rustcollege.edu.

Transcript Evaluation

Students are responsible for all evaluation fees if transcripts need to be translated and/or evaluated. Students are also responsible for seeking an accredited organization or government agency to translate and/or evaluate foreign transcripts.

Priority Application Submission Deadlines

We know that researching schools can be difficult. You are seeking an enriching experience and a high academic program, as well as resources and a supportive, nurturing environment as an international or multicultural student. You can find the warm family atmosphere and more – at Rust College! Applications are open year-round, but priority is given to students who complete applications by the following deadlines:

Fall Semester Admission: May 1

Admission Fee & Payment

In order to be assured of consideration for admission, the student should submit the following by the deadline established by the Office of Admissions (see academic calendar):

  • A completed application for admission.
  • $25 non-refundable application fee ($50 for international students).
  • An official transcript from the high school and/or college attended.
  • A pre-entrance medical report on the prescribed form provided by the College or medical reports/shot records from a physician’s office or State Health Department.
  • Two letters of recommendation, one of which must come from a principal, on forms provided by the College. In the case of a student seeking admission by GED, both recommendations must come from persons who are qualified to certify the student’s ability to qualify for a college education.

A student may be admitted conditionally if one or more items from 1 through 5 are missing. However, a student may not remain in conditional status for more than one semester. All missing items should be submitted by mid-term in which the student enrolls. Non-resident part-time students who are not seeking a degree may be exempted from items 4 and 5. All resident students must comply with item 4. Upon receipt of the completed application with the required documents and the admission fee, Admissions will consider the application for admission and will notify the student of its decision.

New students who desire or are required to live in campus housing must send a room reservation fee of $150.00.

Students will be notified by Rust College Resident Life once the reservation is complete. Continuing students are encouraged to submit room reservations before July 15th for the Fall and November 15th for the Spring. All fees and deposits are submitted to the Business Office.

In evaluating a student’s application for admission, Rust College Admissions considers the following factors:

  • Student academic performance at the high school and/or college previously attended.
  • ACT and/or SAT scores for scholarship opportunities.
  • Student personal qualities and interests as expressed through the letters of recommendation.
  • High school Transcript if applying as a high school student and a college or university transcript for transfer applicant or dual enrollment applicant
