Rust College is proud to announce that Sa’Kinah Williams, the Student Government Association President, has been selected as a 2024 HBCU Scholar by the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This prestigious recognition marks the 10th anniversary of the transformative HBCU Scholars program.
Sa’Kinah joins a cohort of 110 exceptional students from 77 HBCUs nationwide, chosen for their outstanding academic achievements, leadership potential, and dedication to community service. The scholars represent 23 states and 11 countries, selected from a competitive pool of over 350 applicants
As an HBCU Scholar, Sa’Kinah will:
- Serve as an ambassador for the White House Initiative, the U.S. Department of Education, and Rust College
- Participate in leadership development programs and networking events
- Engage in workshops designed to enhance skills and expand horizons
- Connect with industry leaders, policymakers, and program alumni
