The Mississippi Association of Educational Office Professionals has named Dr. Doris J. Ward, Vice President for Academic Affairs at Rust College, as the 2024 Educational Administrator of the Year.
This prestigious award recognizes Dr. Ward’s exceptional leadership, commitment to academic excellence, and dedication to enhancing educational experiences.
Dr. Ward’s journey in academia began at Rust College, where she graduated summa cum laude in 1985. She went on to earn her Ph.D. from Clark Atlanta University in 1993, specializing in the biochemical aspects of reproductive hormones in primates. Her postdoctoral research with the USDA involved genetic manipulation of bacteria.
Throughout her accomplished career, Dr. Ward has held academic positions at various institutions, including Livingstone College, Winston-Salem State University, Bethune-Cookman University, and Voorhees College. Her contributions to curriculum development and her numerous accolades are a testament to her expertise and passion for education.
